Pac Man In Eagles Future?

March 25, 2008

Of course, there isn’t one shred of evidence that the Eagles would be interested in Adam “Pacman” Jones, the Titans suspended defensive back and kick returner.

But the Eagles need a playmaker and Pacman is one of three big-time playmakers on the market.

Sadly the other two are Jeremy Shockey and the guy from the Titans (Haynesworth) who groined Cowboys center Andre Girode.

So why not Pacman? He would be great for the media and he’s an exciting player.

Instead, Eagles fans will need to settle for the fact the Birds won’t trade for anyone, will draft a nobody offensive lineman.

But that Haynesworth guy would get style points in Philly to kicking a Cowboys player.

Thoughts?

Beloved Philly Zoo Giraffe Passes On

March 25, 2008

Puzzles the Giraffe has passed away at 27 years old (or, in human years, 108).

The Inquirer has a nice obit and look at Puzzles’ life.

Even worse is the the second of the zoo’s 3 giraffes is older that Puzzles, so we face an impending giraffe shortage.

New Poll Shows Clinton Holding Off Obama In Pa.

March 25, 2008

It’s still Hillary Clinton’s primary to lose in Pennsylvania, according to new polling data. But the bitter battle with Barack Obama could be helping John McCain in the November general election here.

The Tuesday Rasmussen Poll has Clinton up by 10% over Obama in the April 22 Pa. Primary.

Link: Today’s Rasmussen Poll

But both Dems would slightly trail John McCain if the election were held today.

Obama will be here next week as he does a 6-day bus tout of the state.  There’s no word if Obama will be riding on SEPTA as part of the junket.

Are The Eagles Just Messing With McNabb?

March 25, 2008

The Eagles signed yet another weapon that Donovan McNabb asked for – Rocky Boiuman!

You may be asking who Rocky Boiuman is. He’s a former reserve linebacker for the Colts and Titans who will try to make the team as a wedge buster on kickoffs.

Rocky joins fellow free-agent signings Dan Klecko, Chris Clemons and Asante Samuel as players who can’t help Donovan McNabb on offense.

McNabb went public in February asking for playmakers, but he’s 0 for 4 so far.

Ironically, the Eagles have as many as 12 draft picks and a ton of cash to spend.

No Randy Moss or Javon Walker or Larry Fitzgerald to help McNabb.

Don’t expect any news on this front until draft day.  But the longer D-Mac goes without help, it looks like his time in Philly may be coming to an end.

Rachael Ray Insults Philly Big Time

March 25, 2008

Earlier we reported the truck driver voiced domestic diva will be here to review local eatery Deuce for her predictable Food Network show.

But now, it turns out Rachael Ray will only send a camea crew to Northern Liberties to film a luck restaurant.  Rach won’t drive down the NJ Turnpike to visit Deuce from her Chelsea studios. Her publicist says she’s too busy.

Read more on the Philly Examiner

Of course, the odd thing is that the show is about finding the best values when you visit a city. Deuce’s entrees run from $16 to $21, which may be cheap in Chelsea but average around here.

Sixers Are Red Hot But No One Cares?

March 25, 2008

The Sixers had an (or is it a) historic win at the faux Boston Gardens last night, but did anyone notice?

The team is still having problems drawing fans and getting mentioned in local newscasts.

Instead, we are seemingly beset with local TV exposes on prostitution rings and the ever-present Mayor Nutter.

ABC, Fox and NBC have run special reports in the past week on local ladies walking the streets.

Even though the Spitzer story is yesterday’s news and no one has seen Ashley Dupre in a week.

Phillie Phanatic Turns Communist

March 25, 2008

The beloved (by some) Phillie Phantic shows his support for Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro by turning red.

Actually, he went red to promote Mayor Nutter’s clean-up initiative next weekend, where the Mayor wants to scrub clean 1,000 block of the city.

My question: as someone who has stood next to the Phanatic, will he ever dry clean that costume? Yuch.
